A LEVEL CHEMISTRY

A knowledge of Chemistry helps us to understand and explain the world around us. During our A Level Chemistry course learners study a range of basic concepts, including atomic structure, energetics, thermodynamics and mechanisms of organic reactions, allowing them to build a comprehensive body of knowledge that they can then apply to novel contexts.

The AQA chemistry specification was prepared to inspire students, nurture their passion for chemistry and lay the groundwork for further study in courses such as chemistry, medicine and pharmacy. These specifications have been written with minimal context. This means that you can select the context and applications that you feel bring the subject alive. Practical Chemistry is at the heart of science, here at NLA we believe that chemistry is fundamentally an experimental subject. These specifications we teach provide numerous opportunities to use practical experiences to link theory to reality, and equip students with the essential practical skills they need.
