Students from The Studio in Liverpool received a royal welcome at an employability conference at Buckingham Palace earlier this term.
Representatives from The Studio were invited to present at the convention by HRH The Duke of York, who hosted the event at Buckingham Palace. 30 studio schools from across the country attended the conference, with four schools chosen to present.
There were also presentations from former England footballer Sol Campbell, members of the Edge Foundation and the Chair of the Studio Schools Trust, Geoff Mulgan. Each seminar focused on the theme of education for the 21st century.
Current Year 13 student Jack M and Studio graduate Peter L presented at the conference to showcase how being a student at a studio school has impacted their studies. Jack shared an insight into his YGD Bafta winning game, whilst Peter discussed how his time at The Studio prepared him to start his own business after graduating from Year 13.
Shaun McInerney, Principal at The Studio, attended the event and said:
“It was a real experience for our students and an incredible privilege for Jack and Peter to present how coming to The Studio has given them unique opportunities and enabled them to build a foundation for a successful career. They showcased how working with industry partners has fostered their professional growth. They both presented professionally and left no one in doubt of their emerging talent.”
