First Aid at Work

31 students from our Sixth Form recently completed the First Aid at Work course.

As well as learning skills that could potentially save a life, the students are now recognised with a qualification that will help increase their chances of employability in the future.

Max Roddick, one of the students completing the course, said: “Using this time to learn first aid has been invaluable and could one day allow me to save someone’s life.”

Some of the skills learned on the day included CPR, dealing with unconscious casualties and managing bleeds and broken bones.

Mr Smith recognised the importance of the qualification by saying: “The importance of first aid cannot be underestimated. Now we have 31 members of our sixth form trained in first aid, the school should be a safer place to study and work.”
