Year 6 students from our local primary schools were invited to join our raft of Halloween activities – starting off with Mr Gunning’s cookery class where they decided on their own shapes, colours and designs. They then moved on to making ghoulish masks and haunted Halloween lamps in the Art and Crafts session. During Maths they worked through a fun computer game with Mr Fardey and rounded off the day with a scary Disney movie, eating popcorn made with their very own hands.
Student Asia got stuck in to all activities, commenting “I loved winning fab prizes in the Bingo game. I’ve never won anything before!”
Others preferred the Creepy Crawly show which featured a python, scorpion and a tarantula among other amazing animals. Antwone said “the man with the Creepy Crawlies show was really funny and made me feel confident enough to put the snake around my neck.” Casey added “I loved all the activities in October camp but my favourite part was eating homemade popcorn and watching a film in the cinema with my new friends. I can’t wait to start at the Academy next year.”
All attendees were exemplary and we look forward to welcoming them to the school next September.
