Our week in social

What a week!

We were lucky to play host to sporting legends recently at NLA, for our Sportsmans Dinner which raised funds for our Year 8 Jersey football tour. We were joined by Liverpool and Everton legends, John Aldridge and Alan Stubbs and entertained by comedian Gary Skyner and a range of Liverpool FC and Everton FC memorabilia was raffled over the evening. A big thank you for our wonderful catering team who dressed the hall for the evening and treated guests to a wonderful bowl of Scouse, and of course our partners, staff and students for playing their part in a wonderful evening. A big thank you, too, to Barclays Kirkby branch for matching funds raised.

We were all joined by Paralympian, Anna Jackson, and Cheshire Phoenix Wheelchair Basketball Club who delivered a workshop to our year 12 BTEC Sport Studies students, which finished in a highly competitive 5v5 match.

We also took part in this years NSPCC Number Day, raising £113.70 during a break time Cake Sale for NSPCC. Our theme for the day was Dressing as a Number, with some great outfits on show, especially from our Maths department!

Our Tuesday staff briefings are a highlight of the week for our hardworking team here at NLA and this weeks was pretty special. With love and Valentines spirit in the air, staff were serenaded by ‘Cant help falling in love’ and there was other performances by students. This weeks mental health and wellbeing stars nominees each received a rose and Ms Cannon was awarded for her hard work with a bottle of champagne.
