Our week in social

We started our week off with a bang at NLA as Mr William won the raffle for our themed firework cake. Well done for scooping the top prize! All the money raised each year goes towards our annual fireworks display; this year’s spectacular event took place on the 5 November.

This week also saw our students come together in true democratic style and cast their votes for Head Girl and Head Boy. Well done to all the students who were nominated; our voting system is a great way for our students to use their voices and decide who they want representing them at NLA.

It’s also been an exciting week for the students who travelled to Barcelona for a well-deserved half term getaway to soak up some Catalonian culture and bask in some Barcelona sunshine before the winter rolls in. After a ferry trip across the Channel, and a lengthy coach trip through Europe, our students arrived in Spain. Whilst in the city we visited Gaudi’s impressive Sagrada Familia and even took a trip to Camp Nou, home of the mighty FC Barcelona. If you want to see more of what we got up to, search #NLABarcelona2019 on Twitter.

Our students had the unique opportunity to hear from one of Liverpool’s most successful self-starters, this week. Kate Stewart, who owns the Sandon Pub and Hotel and supported living accommodation Vitality Homes, delivered an inspiring speech to our Year 10 Enterprise students on how to succeed in business.

And finally, in honour of Remembrance Sunday, Mr Cross alongside students Scarlet and Daniel represented NLA at St George’s Hall during its Remembrance Sunday service.

Next week we’ll be sharing some more information on our upcoming Arts Festival, so keep your eyes peeled across our social media for more information on how you can get involved.
