North Liverpool Academy celebrated another wonderful Pink and Powerful celebration this week, welcoming students, parents and local community members to take part in this charity extravaganza!
Kicked off by a spectacular performance from MD Productions and expertly compered by BBC Radio Merseyside Presenter Ngunan Adamu the guests were thrilled from start to finish by catwalks from LJMU students and the effortlessly gorgeous Francesca Couture. Also performing were brand new Liverpool girlband GirlTalk who got the crowd going with there new hit. Entrepreneur Justine Mills (owner of Cricket Boutique) and champion boxer Natasha Jonas gave the audience expert insights into how perseverance, passion and belief in yourself can help you build amazing opportunities around you.
The first 100 guests through the door were greeted with a glass of (non-alcoholic) fizz and a pamper goodie bag, packed full of products donated by Unilever on Port Sunlight and Lush store Liverpool.
As well as all the stage activity guests could visit a variety of stalls in three zones. In ‘Entrepreneurship’ we had local businesses including AuntyFran children’s clothes and Serendipity Jewelry from Priory Road. In ‘Advice’ we had representatives from Citizen’s Advice Bureau and Everton Nursey and Children’s Centre amongst others and finally in ‘Health and Beauty’ guests could receive complimentary treatments from PAAT Therapies or Lush Spa Liverpool.
The evening was a wonderful celebration of everything women can achieve and we hope the ladies left feeling relaxed, inspired and having had a brilliant time. We were fundraising for Teenage Cancer Trust throughout the evening and although funds are still being counted we expect the final figure to be over £600 which is a fantastic achievement for all that contributed.
A huge thank you to everyone that came along and we look forward to next year!
