Road Closure – June 8th and 9th 2018

Road Closure – June 8th and 9th 2018

Dear Parent/ Carer,

One of the luxuries of working and studying within a vibrant part of the city is the opportunity for us to experience a wide range of cultural activities on our doorstep. We are pleased to inform parents and students that the Positive Vibrations, Festival of Reggae, will be taking place in the Baltic Triangle on the 8th and 9th of June. This festival celebrates all aspects of Reggae culture and will combine music, art, culture, society and the science of sound and we are very happy to support its continued success.

As part of the safe planning of the event, we have been informed that there will be a number of road closures around the school on the day.

Road Closures on 8th and 9th June:

  • Greenland Street
  • Newhall Street

We have been assured that any disruption will be minimised, however there are likely to be some delays and a reduction in parking availability. Those who drop off and pick up students from school may wish to allow additional time and agree an alternative pick up point as there will be no access to Greenland Street or Newhall Street at the start or end of the day.

The school buses and minibuses will be running as normal. Students will be directed where to board them safely by duty staff.

Students and parents have been invited to benefit from a reduction in ticket prices should they wish to attend the event for half the usual ticket price. Please contact the festival team to find out more [email protected]

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Shaun McInerney
