Welcome to North Liverpool Academy Sixth Form
At North Liverpool Academy Sixth Form we are focused on helping our students get great results, but also to achieve their full potential by providing a supportive learning environment for them to flourish in. Our courses are led by subject specialists with an impressive record in helping students gain A level and BTEC qualifications. Our past results show that our students perform well in our caring and supportive learning environment, which is underpinned by our core values, and go on to achieve great things.
Our Sixth Form is an exciting place to learn and we, alongside our students, create a culture of aspiration, independence, confidence and respect. Students graduate from the NLA Sixth Form with a broad range of skills and the confidence to succeed in an ever-changing world.
We are excited to welcome you here and if you are considering joining us at Sixth Form, we encourage you to attend one of our open evenings to find out more.
We look forward to meeting you.
– Dan Crabtree, Head of Sixth Form
– Patrick Ottley-O’Connor, Executive Principal
Sixth Form Enrichment and community action
Year 12 students at NLA undertake a range of volunteer roles during their time with us. On average our students contribute an hour a week to the school and our neighbours in the local community. Students also fulfil the role of lunch time prefects one day per week, and lunch is provided for them whilst they are on prefect duty.
The University of Liverpool is a member of the UK’s Russell group of leading research institutions and has an annual turnover of £340 million, including £123 million for research. With 22,000 students and 153,000 alumni in 159 countries, the university supports more than 5,000 jobs and generates more than £365 million for Liverpool’s economy.
The institution works closely with key public agencies to drive the processes of knowledge transfer and business development into the heart of the UK economy and has 560 industry partners.
Careers and university
Most of our students from our Sixth Form will go on to higher education, but we know that not all our students want to pursue further education. That’s why here at the NLA, we help students explore their options with both apprenticeships and future careers as well.
If you are considering taking the further education route, the NLA carries a full range of university prospectuses which are available in the LRC. Alternatively, all information is also readily available through university websites and the UCAS website.
Sixth Form Uniform
All students attending North Liverpool Academy are expected to wear school uniform and smart business dress.
Our uniform ensures that our students are smartly dressed whilst attending school, and also that all students feel welcome and comfortable as we are a non-religious organisation which welcomes students from any background. Because of this we require that all students follow our strict dress code.
Sixth Form 16-19 Bursary Fund
If you’re aged between 16 – 19 you may be eligible to apply for our bursary fund, which helps students to meet the costs associated with leaning. Our bursary fund can provide financial support with the following:
- Books and course equipment
To make an application, download and complete an application form (see below) and hand it in to Mr Dinsmore.
Sixth Form Year 12 Mock Exams
Year 12 will sit mock exams in their A level subjects during the week commencing 2nd July. These exams are key to informing us of student progress and the likely outcomes at the end of Year 13, and will allow you to target areas for revision over the summer and next year.
