Spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) awareness is woven throughout all our lessons here at North Liverpool Academy. We know that by allowing our students to explore and develop their own value and belief system, that they will be better equipped to learn and achieve during their time with us.
Through SMSC, our students explore and develop their own values and beliefs, high standards of personal behaviour, a positive caring attitude towards one another, and an understanding and appreciation of their own and others’ diverse cultures.
Our i-lead programme brings together our SMSC education, our personal health and social education (PHSE), and our social and emotional aspects of learning (SEAL). Throughout the i-lead programme, our students get to grips with careers information and guidance for their future, as we prepare them for the world of work once they graduate from NLA.
The programme is delivered through many channels during the school day including house ethos, assembly programmes, form time, enrichment days and external trips. Our i-lead programme is also bolstered by our Gems, which are the cornerstone of our enterprising culture here at NLA.
Our six Gem categories – creativity, teamwork, problem solving, risk taking, determination, and reflection – are some of the key attributes of successful entrepreneurs. They are also the most desired attributes of UK employers; we factor our six Gem themes into everything that we do here at NLA.
