UCAS Coordinator and Sixth Form Mentor

You’ll find Miss Woollam in the Sixth Form Learning Resource Centre. She is responsible for your day-to-day pastoral support and also leads our UCAS support programme. Miss Woollam is available throughout the day to advise on your plans for progression beyond Sixth Form. She is likely to be the first staff member that you see each morning, and the person to talk to if you have any questions or problems. Miss Woollam meets all Y11 applicants before they join our Sixth Form to help advise and reassure them as they make the transition to KS5. She is always on hand to support you in your studies and advise you on university choices or apprenticeships.

We ensure that eligible students are supported throughout their studies and we offer students financial support to cover education-related costs such as study resources and experiences.

Careers Support

Our career team are there to support you to achieve your future ambitions. Each student will receive one to one careers advice to explore careers in your area of interest. “Students in Sixth Form benefit from a well designed careers programme. "Great opportunities and experience presented at the NLA Sixth Form is what engaged my interest initially and from my 5 previous years studying my GCSEs at NLA, I can confidently confirm that the teachers heavily invest their own time to our benefit - which created a sense of belonging and community in NLA. Currently studying A Level Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics as I want to pursue a career in the STEM eld, mainly Medicine. Knowing this is a highly competitive niche, amazing A Levels results will not guarantee a place in the top universities so to increase your chances of success you must be involved in super curricular activities.
