NLA now has just over half of its community of students being students who are EAL. We have a team of four English as an Additional Language Learning Support Assistants who are led by our EAL Coordinator, Miss York.

They have a very well-resourced base in the school in which they can provide the appropriate support in order for our EAL students to access the curriculum. This support can include some sessions in the EAL base, providing students with basic strategies for learning as well as in-class support in lessons.

As well as developing language skills, the EAL team ensure that we recognise and celebrate the diversity and culture of our students in order to be a fully inclusive school.
