The admission policy for North Liverpool Academy is fully inclusive. The aims of the SEN department are guided by the SEN Code of Practice. Our SEN department is led by our SENDCo, Mrs Parkes. We have an assistant SENDCo, Mrs McDonald, and a large team of Learning Support Assistants dedicated to ensuring that all students work towards their full potential, regardless of their individual needs.
We use a variety of assessment strategies and liaise closely with outside agencies and other professionals to ensure that we fully understand individual needs and tailor support around them. We aim to empower students and support them in developing the resilience to thrive in and out of the lesson. North Liverpool Academy is not a resourced school and does not have a focused provision or any SEN specialism.
Through our primary liaison programme, we aim to work with primary colleagues to identify students who may require additional support throughout the transition period to enable them to start their secondary education successfully.
Our team receives regular training to ensure they are equipped to provide the best possible support to our students.
