North Liverpool Academy wins the Northern Schools Trust Chess Tournament
At North Liverpool Academy, we are delighted to celebrate our students' victory in the inaugural Northern Schools Trust Chess Tournament. The tournament was held on Wednesday, 5th March in our Drama Theatre.
This achievement is a testament to their dedication, analytical thinking, and perseverance.
Our team, made up of students from Year 7 to Year 11, faced strong challengers from schools across the trust. The matches, each lasting 20 minutes, were intense and demanded strategic precision.
Through calculated moves and strong decision-making, our students showcased their passion for the game and their ability to think ahead under pressure.
Winning this tournament is not just about claiming first place; it is about embracing the values of critical thinking, patience, and resilience—skills that extend beyond the chessboard and into everyday life.
We also congratulate Gateacre, who secured second place, and all other participants for their fantastic performances.
As chess continues to grow in popularity within our academy, we look forward to future tournaments and further success.
