Mrs Johnston 

Senior Leader for KS3

 

Mrs Johnston has been with North Liverpool Academy for the past fourteen years. Her interests include reading, going to the gym, and spending quality time with her three children. Previously, she served as the Head of Modern Foreign Languages. Currently, she is the Lower School Senior Leader and spearheads our strategic priority, the NLA Scholars Programme.

Mrs Johnston also oversees the transition from primary to secondary school and monitors progress in Key Stage 3 to ensure preparedness for Key Stage 4. She is very excited to meet the new Year 7 students and looks forward to working with you to make this cohort the best Year 7 the Academy has ever seen.

 Meet the rest of the Team

Mr Connolly

Mr Connolly has been a Computing teacher here at NLA for 2 years now, he moved to NLA after working in a secondary school in Shenzhen, China for 3 years.

His competitive nature helped McGough to another victory in the house competitions league and he will be doing everything in his power to make sure McGough come out victorious again this year.

He is very excited to meet his new form and wants you to know that he will be there to support you with every step of your NLA journey. In his spare time, he loves going to watch the best football team on Merseyside (Everton).

Mrs Cave

 

Mrs Cave is a member of the English department at North Liverpool Academy and she cannot wait to hear all about your favourite books and what you’re currently reading.

Mrs Cave is very keen on having a form filled with students who always give 100% and she believes that every day we should strive to be the best we can be. Mrs Cave loves NLA and has been an English teacher for over ten years so can support you with anything you might need in your time at school.  

MRS O’KEEFE

 

Mrs O’Keefe is an English teacher at NLA and has been for the last sixteen years. Whilst she likes her lessons to be as creative and enjoyable as possible, she maintains high standards and will expect you to reach your full potential; being the best form, means being the best.

She is very much looking forward to meeting her new form, after nurturing and supporting her last form for the past 4 years. One thing Mrs O’Keefe would like you to know about NLA before you arrive is that we are a family and she will be there to support you throughout your whole experience here.

MR CLEAVER

 

Mr Cleaver has been a Science teacher at NLA for the last four years. He is always looking for new ways to make Science even more exciting, while maintaining the high standards that he expects.

In his free time, he likes to read and is passionate about his favourite Rugby team, Leicester Tigers. He has been with his previous form for the last two years, taking them through the transition from KS3 into KS4 and is now looking forward to supporting you through your time here at NLA and welcoming you to our learning family.

Mr Bolton

 

Mr. Bolton is an English and Media Studies teacher at NLA and has been a teacher for nine years. Having gotten his current Year 10 form through a great start to their GCSEs, he is extremely excited to meet his new Year 7s.

Whilst he likes his lessons and form time to be as fun as possible, he maintains high standards and will expect you to always strive to reach those standards too; act like you are the best and then go and be the best. Mr. Bolton loves Liverpool FC and teaching both English and Media. He is always happy to chat about anything football, book, film, or video game related whenever there’s a spare second. 

Miss Miller 

 

Miss Miller is an Art teacher at North Liverpool Academy. Miss Miller is very enthusiastic about Art, and can bring a wide range of creativity and expertise to her form. Vincent Van Gogh is her favourite artist as he produced amazing artwork which looks even better in real life!

Miss Miller is thrilled to welcome her Year 7s to become a determined, caring and creative pupil at NLA. Miss Miller strives for high standards and expectations which are always maintained within lessons whilst also encouraging and supporting students to always achieve their best!

Mr Hands

 

Mr Hands has been a maths teacher at NLA for just over five years now, he is also in charge of the KS3 Maths curriculum. Mr Hands likes to make his lessons as enjoyable as possible and tries to ensure that each student leaves the lesson feeling they have accomplished something, no matter how small that may be.

Since his start, Mr Hands has been Patten through and through, he can be regularly seen getting involved in house competitions, especially Sports Day. He is always aiming for the best and hopes you aspire to be the best you, that you can be. He is very excited to meet you and be your guide through this next stage of your academic and personal journey.

Mrs Hart

Ms Hart has been Head of Health and Social Care since April 2020. She is a well experienced teacher who also taught Science previously to joining NLA.  Her favourite aspect of teaching is the relationships that are built with her students. She is excited to meet her new form and looks forward to welcoming them to North Liverpool Academy in September.

She is a keen runner and loves to read. She also loves football and has a season ticket for Everton! House competitions are important to her and she looks forward to her new form contributing to the house competitions next year! Ms Hart would like you to know before you arrive at NLA that she will be here to support you all the way through your journey!

Mr Sharvin

Mr Sharvin is a Maths teacher and is excited to welcome a new Year 7 cohort. He has been working at NLA for the past 5 years.

Mr Sharvin strives to be the best form tutor by supporting and guiding his Year 7’s as they begin their journey at NLA. He believes education should be accessible to all and achieves this through making his lessons enjoyable and engaging.

Mr Sharvin is a huge sports fan, which naturally makes him competitive and wants to help La Plante win all the house competitions.

Mr Rawcliffe

Mr Rawcliffe is a 2nd year ECT (Early Career Teacher) who joined NLA last September. Mr Rawcliffe had previously been in retail management for 11 years before going back to university and achieving a degree in Mathematics.

He is a teacher of Mathematics and helps run the Sparx maths homework club.

He is a keen sportsperson and Rubik’s cube enthusiast.
