Harry King
Hi my name is Harry King and I went to New Park Primary School. When I found out I was accepted to NLA I was thrilled but I was also really scared because I didn’t know if I would make any friends. When I walked into the building I knew I would be so happy. There were lots of friendly faces that made me feel more confident.
I went to two different summer school activities, cooking and singing/dancing. In doing these activities I made so many new friends from lots of different primary schools.
The staff at this school are amazing and they make you feel so welcome. I would say my favourite subject is performing arts because it lets you express yourself in any way. I wouldn't say that I have a favourite teacher because they are all so helpful and deliver such engaging lessons. My best part of Year 7 was winning an award at the Year 7 awards evening for being the best student in Year 7 La Plante. La Plante is definitely the best house. I am looking forward to meeting you all in September.
Amelia Ansari
Hi my name is Amelia Ansari and I went to New Park Primary School. In July, I attended the Year 7 induction day where I met my new form tutor and the other students in my form class. It turns out, they were all just as nervous as me. During the parent induction evening, my mum received an email about a series of summer schools for me to choose from. I chose Family History and cooking. I was really worried that I wouldn't make any friends but I just started to speak to people and tell them my name and a few things about me and they did the same. We ended up sitting together at lunch and to this day, we still talk to each other.
Before I started I thought the school and the building was really big but once you have been here a couple of weeks it actually seems quite small. All of the teachers in the school are always really kind and willing to help you when you need it. My favourite subject is Performing Arts because you can express yourself in many different ways and my favourite teacher would have to be Miss Williamson, the performing arts teacher.
The best part of Year 7 for me was when I won an award at the ‘Project Book Awards evening’. I won an award and a certificate with my name on it and I was able to celebrate with my family and the other winners. You really have so much to look forward to.
Jing Wen Liu
My name is Jing Wen Liu and I came from Anfield road primary school. When I found out that I got a place at NLA I was so happy as I knew so many people were trying to get in. My dad knew I was a very shy person so he booked me onto a number of summer school activities where I made so many new friends. Then, I wasn’t nervous to start in September as I already knew a lot of people.
I love NLA at there are so many after school clubs that you can attend every night. There are also rewards for good behaviour and attendance. There are also a lot of house competitions and each house tried to gain the most points at the end of the academic year.
You have so many good things to look forward to. The science and food technology facilities are amazing! I am looking forward to meeting you all.
Enes Kircaer
Hi, my name is Enes Kircaer and I went to school at Whitefield Primary School. North Liverpool Academy is the best school to go to and I always recommend it to everyone that I know. In school, I am part of the ‘Leg Robotics Team’ and I have been able to participate in a number of competitions throughout the year. Gong to this club has helped me to make friends with other people that share the same interests as me.
Before I went to school I felt nervous because I felt like I wouldn’t fit in but I really didn’t need to. I’ve loved my time so far here at NLA because all of the students and staff have been so nice and I think the school provides so many great opportunities for the students. One of those opportunities is the Scholars programme where we attend extracurricular activities every Monday and Tuesday after school to enrich out cultural capital.
My favourite teacher definitely has to be Mr Sherry and my favourite lesson would have to be maths because of him. Her makes the lessons really fun and engaging. I can’t wait to meet you all in September.
Reyansh Kumar
Hi, my name is Reyansh Kumar I went to Kensington Community Primary school. I was really nervous to start at North Liverpool Academy as when I attended the Year 7 induction day, I realised that I did not know anyone in my form. Luckily there were lots of team building activities planned so that each of us could get to know each other. By the end of the day we were able to log in to our google classroom and sign up to loads of summer school activities together. I decided to sign up for ‘Robotics and Ready steady cook’.
I am part of the Scholars programme at North Liverpool Academy. My favourite part of the programme this Year was carrying out a Dragons Den Style presentation in front of the Principal as part of the maths programme, We were all really nervous at the start but we were so proud of the presentation that we were able to do together as a team.
All of the lessons at NLA are really fun and engaging and the teachers are very friendly and helpful. If you need to find places around the building then any of the other students will help you out. I hope you are looking forward to coming in September.
Peace Ekun
Hello, my name is Peace Ekun. The house that I’m in is McGough which I personally think is the best house to be in. I went to Arnot St Mary Primary School.
When I finally got accepted into North Liverpool Academy, I was so excited and definitely looking forward to it. As the year went on, and I was getting closer to starting Year 7, I started to become quite scared and worried because I knew that high school was going to be a lot harder than primary school and the teachers may be a lot stricter. After I finished primary, I went to summer school. Summer school is an amazing part of the school because you get to do a multitude of fun activities and make new friends. Once I entered high school I wasn’t as nervous because I recognised a few of my friends that I met in summer school. As the year went on I made many friends and realised that high school isn’t as scary as I thought it was.
Another thing that didn’t make school scary was the lessons. The teachers always make the lessons fun for us and they also make it more exciting. My favourite lessons are art and computing. The main reason why I like art is because of our teacher Miss Bennett and the reason why I like computing is because we get to learn different things about a computer that I never knew before. Before school started, I also got accepted into the Scholars program which was a huge deal for me. Scholars are a group of people that do after school activities like eco school, English, maths, and Science. The Scholars program is run by Mrs Johnston and she organises many parts of it. Another thing about scholars is that we get rewarded for the things that we do. In May, we got to go to Greece as part of our study of ‘Classical Civilisation’. It was really fun it really helped us bring the subject to life.
